After receiving his Associate degree in Maritime Transportation and his Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation
from the Visayan Maritime Academy in the Philippines, Gene commenced his Merchant Marine Officer career sailing with
Leonis Navigation Co. Inc. Sailing from 1980 to 2000, the last five years as Chief Mate, Gene earned his Master Mariner
license in 1998. In 2000 Gene became Marine Superintendent at World Marine in Tokyo. Leaving World Marine he joined
Roymar Ship Management in 2005 as Assistant Safety, Quality and Environment Manager. Gene joined PetroMed in
2009, apart form being a Master Mariner, he is also an ISM/ISO/EMS Certified Auditor.
